So…it’s a work in progress but yes, I have officially moved out!
It really hasn’t been easy. I mean…before this, I did not even have my own room! So yes, all of this is fairly new to me and there are things that I hate about it all. The main one being that I am away from my family and I miss them so much every day.
I moved out to be closer to my new job, which I will tell you about in one of my next posts. It’s been about a month now so I thought it was time to share some pictures with you. Although I love so many different design styles, such as English Country, Cottage Chic, Victorian, Vintage and Scandinavian Country/Modern, I decided to go with the latter…sort of. I love a white interior. It’s clean, pure and simple. On that note, without further ado, here are a couple of pictures of my studio apartment.
^ I am obsessed with throw pillows and blankets and will be adding more to my collection and switching things up as the seasons change. In this picture, you can see:
IKEA Ektorp Loveseat & Armchair , IKEA Lack Coffee Table, IKEA Krakris Throw Blankets and Cushions, West Elm Thick Grey Throw, Elisabetta Franchi Black Throw Cushion, Misc Coffee-table Books, Typo ‘Y’ Letters, IKEA Leirvik Bed Frame with Hovag Sprung Mattress and Strandkyrpa Duvet Set and IKEA Rigga Clothes Rack.
As you can see, I went hella crazy at Ikea but hey, if you are looking for Scandinavian inspired white interiors, where else do you go?
I got my sheer white curtains for a steal at a store in Bur Dubai somewhere. My amazing mom stitched white bed sheets to the back of them so that I would not have to buy another set of curtains to cover the sheer ones. She is awesome that way! In fact, she helped me with almost everything and I will be forever grateful to her! The chair you see in the above picture at my workstation is temporary. It is actually one of the balcony chairs that I brought in and covered with a throw.
So.. those floor lamps are from Ikea too. They were pretty cheap. AED 35 for each, if I remember correctly. The chest of drawers where the television sits and the show cupboard right beside it are both custom made. What do you think?
My mom laughed at me when I told her that I wanted to buy a clothes rack and decorate my room with my clothes (‘cause I have got so many!) But it looks pretty, doesn’t it? The bedside tables are also custom made.
I still have a long way to go before I call my new home complete. I need to add a couple of plants, a gallery wall, shelves, a small dining table aaaand..aaahh..so much!!! Knowing me, I will probably try to get it all done by the end of this month or the next! So, once I do, you’ll be seeing more pictures posted over here as well as more home-related posts such as inspirations, decor ideas and rules.
I can’t wait but first, tell me what you think of my new place so far?
