Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde

Bourjois’ new chrome designed mascara is not only a pretty new addition to my beauty shelf but it get’s the job done too.

The mascara brush takes its inspiration from professional round hairbrushes hence brushing lashes to the maximum and creating instant volume. Apparently, the brush cleverly alternates bristles fitted with small wraparound spheres and straight bristles. The first envelops the whole lash to coat it while the second defines each individual lash.

I like that the mascara delivers volume right through to the ends of the lashes instead of just at the roots.

Yep, there are a a bit of clumps but I have to admit, I was in a hurry while applying them to my lashes, which I usually am most of the time. That’s why I love that it’s easy to apply – not really ‘1 second’ but close enough!  I also like the black of this mascara. It’s just right…for me, at least!

This high volume mascara is also available in a waterproof formula with a 24-hour hold. However, I will stick to the normal one with its reliable 16-hour hold. It’s quite easy to be removed too.

What’s your favorite Bourjois mascara? Have you tried this one yet?

Nail it: Bourjois’ Dangerous Wish

Bourjois' Dangerous Wish
Bourjois’ Dangerous Wish Nail Varnish*

This gorgeous polish by Bourjois released last year for Halloween! I received it to try a while ago and I absolutely adore it.  The black of the varnish has a gel texture that features golden particles and hexagons. This polish is from their 1 Second collection which claims that it takes one second for a single nail application.

Here’s my review: It did not take one second to apply. So, if you are expecting that to happen…well, don’t. However, the reason for that is because of the gold particles within. It normally is quite tricky to apply glitter polishes quickly and evenly at the same time. I suppose with Bourjois’ other 1 Second polishes, it could work because the brush is fantastic and covers the entire area of the nail in one go! Another thing that I loved about this polish is the coverage. As I mentioned, it’s usually tricky to work with glitter polishes as most of the time, you will be painting coat-over-coat to get the perfect coverage. With this one, two coats was more than enough for a gorgeous even coverage!

When the light shines upon your nails, the golden parts appear to be holographic. Pretty darn cool, huh?

This is another favorite for the season! Perfect for today’s weather in Dubai! Yay for Rain and yay for pretty holographic nails!

Bourjois’ Faux & Fabulous Tattoos

Bourjois Faux & Fabulous Tattoos - Urban Chic
Bourjois Faux & Fabulous Tattoos – Urban Chic

Hello my darlings,

I arrived in Dubai on Thursday night from my trip to Thailand. I definitely miss it there but I am glad to have access to a computer so that I can post everything about my adventures and some other stuff! Here’s number 1: On the day of my trip, I figured I’d try out faux tattoos from this fabulous packet of 80 temporary tattoos sent to me from Bourjois. The brand has been accessorizing to the max with the launch of Faux & Fabulous, a range of hip and glamorous accessories such as subtle false lashes and tattoos.

The packet I received, titled Urban Chic is a street style collection with over 80 fashion-forward urban motifs  such as ethnic necklaces, chains, stars, cat prints, bracelets and more! I had such a hard time choosing what to wear so I decided to go for two really simple ones. Take a look:

What do you think? The last time I used temporary tattoos was when I used to eat a lot of candy as a little girl since I would find a lot of them in the candy wrappers. Haha. I am glad Bourjois has brought the art of faux tattoos back in trend!  They are super easy to use. You just need to cut out the temporary tattoo, remove the film, place the tattoo on the skin and then dampen the paper with water! Viola! To remove, use an oil-based make-up remover.

I’ll be exploring the other tattoos from the packet real soon, so stay tuned! I can’t wait to apply the bracelets!!

Have you tried these fabulous temporary tattoos from Bourjois yet?

What’s In My Makeup Bag? #1

Good morning beautiful people,

How was the Eid break for everybody? It’s been a while since I last posted, so here I am and this time I am going to let you all in on what I’ve been carrying around in my makeup bag this past weekend! This super cute makeup bag was gifted to me by my sister following her recent trip to Japan. I apologize for the overload of polka dots. If you read my About page, you’d know that I am obsessed with all things polka! Haha. Anyway, here we go!

Products are listed below from Left to Right.
Products are listed below from Left to Right.

Karaja Color Mix Lipstick Pencil & Glow Gloss in No.6 – This product gives a great long-lasting coverage! The gloss is my favorite bit with all its colored pearls and microbrilliants. I sometimes wear the lipstick pencil alone and it lasts me around 5 hours!

Marks & Spencer True Red Purse Spray – I got this as a gift from a friend last Christmas and I absolutely love carrying it around with me everywhere I go! It has a great chypre floral scent. It’s quite a strong feminine fragrance but doesn’t last for long. I would say 6 hours tops!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi-Purpose Dry Oil – This is by far one of the best things ever introduced to me! I received it in my June Glambox and I’ve never left home without it since. It can be used on the face, body and hair. I normally use it on my hair as it makes it feel and look glossy! It also has the most beautiful sweet almond scent. Every girl needs to have a multi-tasker and this is numero uno on my list! Available at all leading drugstores.

UniqOne All in One Hair Treatment – This is the first leave-in product to offer ten benefits all in one bottle! I’ve been using it for months now and I have to say it truly does what it claims! It repairs my dry hair and reduces frizz. I use it as a detangler and as a heat protector. It’s got a strong scent though – almost a little bit too manly, some would say. So if you plan on buying it, do check if you like the scent as it does last for quite a while when you spray it in your hair. This product is available at all leading salons.

Bath & Body Works Forever Red Purse Spray – Another favorite that I received from one of my Glamboxes. Sensual and warm – I love wearing this fruity & floral fragrance in the evenings.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Concealer – I love the Healthy Mix range from Bourjois and I purchased this concealer a couple of months ago. Besides using it as a concealer obviously, I also like to use it as a foundation along with a bit of moisturizer.

H&M Pink Frosting Lip Balm – It’s just yummy! I have so much fun buying lip balms and glosses from H&M. I sometimes suffer from dry lips and I keep this balm with me and it truly does help.

Sephora Pastel Pop Color Adapt Blush – I am a huge fan of Sephora products and I find myself shopping at their stores once every month…at least! This blush reacts and adapts to the pH of your skin and creates a very natural pink on the cheeks! It glides onto and blends into the skin very easily to give a gorgeous flush.

Benefit Porefessional – The best pore minimizer! I’ve got tubes and tubes of this product especially mini ones. I can’t wait to receive it once again in my August Glambox (check out my previous posts to know more about what’s in store).

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation – This is another product that I stock up on! This oil-free brightening liquid foundation offers a beautiful medium natural coverage and feels very comfortable and light on the skin. It also comes with SPF 25.

Nivea Stay On Eye Pencil – The twist up black crayon is not as dark as I’d like it to be but it still gets the job done for daytime wear.

Sephora 3 Eye Brush Wand – Three eye brushes in one held magnetically together. Great portability.

Bobbi Brown Eyeshadow in Grey 06 – A soft, muted greyed brown. I use this shadow to fill in my eyebrows with the Sephora angled brush from the three-in-one wand mentioned above. It also looks beautiful on the lid.

Compact mirror – Do I really need to justify this? Hehe. I got this particular one from Zanedo’s Special Edition Box.

Have you tried any of these? What do you always carry in YOUR makeup bag?
