My Week(s) in Daintyness #6

Hello darlings,

There’s been so much happening these last few weeks that it has been almost impossible for me to update the ‘My Week in Daintyness’ series! So here’s a compilation of ’em all. Before I get to that – I just want to give a shout out to my soul sistah, Sophia Schuhmann who is currently celebrating her birthday in Vietnam although I really wish she were here! :( Happy Birthdayy sugahhh. Love you loads! <3

Let’s go!

First up - Dinner Review for a&e Magazine with the boyfriend at Ossiano Atlantis.
1. Dinner Review for a&e Magazine with the boyfriend at Ossiano Atlantis.

^^You have to pick up a copy of the upcoming a&e issue (November/December) to read this review! 😛 For now, I can only tell you that it is one of the most romantic restaurants in the city!

2. OPI Event @ The Opera Gallery, DIFC
2. OPI Event @ The Opera Gallery, DIFC

^^As the assistant editor for the magazine, I get invited to loads of fun events. This was one of them. It included painting the San Fran skyline, popping paint balloons with darts (which I failed miserably at) and of course manicures!

3. Benefit's Under My Spell Noelle Fragrance Launch
3. Benefit’s Under My Spell Noelle Fragrance Launch

^^This was another fun event! I was given a key at the entrance to find my fragrance which was Noelle! There were also make-over tables, beauticians and gorgeous models!

4. Repetto's first perfume launch
4. Repetto’s first perfume launch

^^A beautiful event where the guests were entertained by a lovely dance performed by a famous ballerina (Damn. I can’t recall her almost arduous French name.Sowwie!) At first, I wasn’t a fan of the fragrance and I thought it wouldn’t be long-lasting but to my surprise, it indeed was!

4. At the Repetto store
4. At the Repetto store

While in the store, I couldn’t help but notice this gorgeous embellished tutu! It makes me wish I was a dancer. Beautiful, isn’t it?

4. Repetto goodies

^^Here’s what I walked away with from the event. (At a&e, we get pampered good!) Cute ballerina flats, a rose, the fragrance in 80ml, a miniature of the fragrance as well as a hair mist! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on hair fragrances for so long now. I am so glad that I got one eventually. Does anyone know where I can find more hair fragrances? There are a lot of brands that produce them but I can’t seem to find them here. Maybe I am looking in all the wrong places?

5. St. Tropez Event @ Sisters Beauty Lounge
5. St. Tropez Event @ Sisters Beauty Lounge

^^How many of you guys showed up at this great event? It was incredible. I learned a lot and I will be reviewing the St. Tropez Spray Tan very soon. See that machine in the picture? That’s where I’ll be in my bikini in a week’s time! I am super excited to share the review with you! *fingers crossed* there are no mishaps though! Remember Kramer from that one Seinfeld episode? Eeek!

Anyway, here’s what I walked away with –

 There’s more!

6. Vince Camuto Steals

^^What do you think of my new shoe steals? I love, love love them! I haven’t worn the tan heels out yet but they are super comfortable. The straps on the black wedges are sorta loose on me. Sadly, they cannot be adjusted which I really hate. It gave me a whole lot of toe blisters when I wore them last Thursday but I am hoping my feet get used to them to a point where they get so numb so that I can wear them ’cause they look so good!

7. Pinot Noir

^^One of the highlights of my Thursday! Mmm.Mmm.Mmmmmm. I cannot say more!

8. Happy Birthday Bestie!

^^To celebrate my bestie, Cassie’s birthday, we went to Patiala Restaurant’s Lounge in Souk Al Bahar where we had some amazing signature cocktails and chilli raisins! Here’s the drink I had –

9. Friday at the beach
9. Friday at the beach

^^I haven’t been to the beach in AGES! I was actually very terrified of going and kept thinking that the sun would scorch me so bad but it was good fun! Thank you Emma! 😛 Before the beach, we had a fun breakfast at Ihop. In the evening, we went to see Malavita at the movies which was a pretty fun film to watch!

10. Lamb rumps @ TRIBES

Review: Save your Sole with Flexflops

Are you a frequent traveler? Are you that girl that pops by the mall for that one little something and ends up shopping for 3 hours in 4 inch pumps? Are you that girl who decides to get a pedicure during your lunch break but then decides not to because of the closed shoes on your feet?

If you are any one of those girls I just described – I think I’ve just found your best friend and it goes by the name – Flexflops!

Flexflops are ’emergency’ foldable flip flops that are packaged in cute matching pouches and available in a bunch of colors! I received the Jetsetter in pink!

Spiced the picture up with an iPod – another necessary travel accessory

These slippers are very comfortable, only if you wear them during emergencies. I definitely wouldn’t suggest you wear them for long periods of time as they could prove to be unpleasant depending on your feet. Flexflops are also very durable – I’ve had mine for a couple of months now and use it very regularly!

What I love about Flexflops is portability; I carry them with me almost everywhere I go because  you never know when a blister may appear or when a heel decides to break (this has happened to me on far too many occasions; yes, I am clumsy, clumsy person!)

Flexflop 02

Even though there are other folding shoes available in the market such as New Look’s or Dr.Scholl’s ballet flats, I swear by Felxflops for a more comfortable experience. I have never tried the ones sold at New Look but I can tell you that Dr. Scholl’s interior makes way for real sweaty feet and there is nothing I hate more than a shoe that doesn’t allow my feet to breathe! Let’s be honest – what is more comfortable than flipflops!? Your feet will thank you forever if you end up buying a pair!

Flexflops are available to purchase at www.aboutthatgirl.com for AED 180!

Have you ever tried Flexflops or other foldable and portable shoes? What are your thoughts?
