Last week, I enjoyed a 5 day break from work, not counting the weekends. I had been waiting forever for my November break so that I could do all the stuff on my to-do-list. I really wanted to be productive. To some extent, I was…but not as much as I wanted to be. So what exactly did I get done? Well, I cleaned out ONE of my closets, organized my makeup, caught up with TV shows, indulged in walks outdoors and spent quality time with family. But…that’s about it.
If you guys have a short break coming up and plan on staying at home instead of traveling. Here are some ideas for productivity: Continue Reading

So – this Thursday I will be turning 25. Yep. TWENTY-FIVE! I am getting old. Meh. I am definitely not excited about being one year older especially since I think I am having a quarter-life crisis right now (I won’t bore you with the details). Anyway, my family and friends have been asking for my wishlist again this year and so, I thought about it long and hard and here are some of the stuff that I really need and others that I want, in no particular order of preference.
1.Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Saffiano Leather Medium Tote in TAN! (Couldn’t find the right picture so this will have to do.) 2. Boho anklets – These would be so pretty to own and wear. I love them beaded, chained and threaded. For some reason, I can’t find these here. 3. Block Hairchalk – ’cause they’re fun and easy to apply. 4. Soft Bristle Brush – I have been desperately looking around for one over the past couple weeks but to no avail. I actually ended buying one that turned out to be for babies. The hairs are pretty much softer than my blush brush, so you can imagine! -_-. 5. MicroSD Memory Card 60 or 120 GB –For my S4 ’cause I am tired of having to delete stuff to make space for other stuff. Grr. 6. Ibn Battuta Mall Gift Card – So I can shop at some of my favorite stores. 7. Ted Baker Beaucon Small Bow Shopper Bag – So I can carry around my stuff in style. 8. Nikon WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter – So I can automatically upload my camera’s pics to my smartphone for pro Instagram pictures :D. 9. Tory Burch York Zip Passport Continental Wallet in Black – ’cause I desperately need a new long-lasting leather wallet. 10. L’Oreal’s Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick – I love L’oreal’s lipsticks and I’d really like to try a couple of shades from this collection – Tangerine, Rose Symphony and Molo Mauve. 11. Asos Gift Voucher – It is only my favorite online shopping destination! 12. Lifetrons Pro Travel Lens System – For cooler photos on-the-go.
“We know that in September, we will wander through the warm winds of summer’s wreckage. We will welcome summer’s ghost” – Henry Rollins
Hello beautiful people and hello September,
Did you know that the last day of September in any year always falls on a different day of the week from the last day of any other month? No? Well, now you know. Haha. I found that pretty interesting. So interesting in fact, that I abused my Windows Calendar and went all the way to like 2020…it’s true!
On to more “pressing” topics – I owe you all an apology for being so MIA! Especially to the lot of you that have been asking. Thank you. Yes, I am okay – my accident prone self did not fall off a see saw again! 😛 I’ve just been busy with work and re-thinking a lot of stuff including my blog.
When I started this blog, I wanted it to be very personal. Yes, I wanted it to feature everything that it does now but I also wanted it to give you guys, an insight to me and my life too. I did start off that way a little, didn’t I? But somewhere along the way, I got lost and occupied. I mean, I did not even have time to think about life – I just kept moving with the crowds in fast motion that I couldn’t even connect with the thoughts in my own mind. Does that make sense?
Recently, thanks to one whole week off work, time alone and my sister – I’ve realized how important it is to just sit down and reflect. After doing that – I have changed so many things about my life starting from the way I eat to the way I react and the way I feel about certain things…All of these have been beneficial to me and my life. However, I still have a lot to work on. I remember posting my New Year’s resolutions a while ago on here which stated that I wanted to, nay, needed to be more positive. As of late, my mind has been crawling with negativity; tiny bugs that multiply and leave in me traces of dark thoughts. That’s not very dainty & delightful, is it? Haha. Don’t worry though – I still have my days of uncontrollable goofiness, laughter and positivity!
I guess what I am trying to say is that this blog makes me happy – it celebrates what I love; I love shopping for beauty products, and I love discovering new places to eat in my city but I also love other stuff too. Soon enough, everyone of you will be introduced to other things that truly matter to me, from my poetry and short stories to the music I listen to and the films I adore.
In the next couple of posts, you are going to see more beauty reviews, because guess what – it’s Fall and you guys have to change it up a bit. I will also let you in on some great health knowledge and tips that I have been following because erm…health is wealth.
See? All I needed was the summer to really figure everything out. As I change, this space will undoubtedly change too, so I hope you guys will join me on my journey.
Here’s hoping September is sweet to you all.
Oh – so I SLIGHTLY revised my blog in terms of design. Can you spot the differences?
Let me start this post by wishing you a very happy new year! I hope that all of you beautiful people had a wonderful time ringing in the new year and that it’s been treating you well so far!
I am not one for resolutions but this year I have a couple.Let’s just see how well I stick to them. It’s never easy for me because of how hectic my daily schedule is but…you never know. 2014 could very well be my year! To be honest, it hasn’t been so far but my numero uno resolution is helping me out!
There are a lot more things that I hope to stick to and accomplish this year but I am going to start with these few simple things.
8.) Eat healthier and exercise more – I daydream about burgers and shakes. ‘Nuff said!
7.) Indulge in more “me” time – Right now, the only “me” time I get is on a crowded bus and train.
6.) Make more time for loved ones – I need to start spending more time with my family and long lost friends! There are so many people that I’ve lost contact with and hopefully, 2014 will be the year in which our friendships will be restored.
5.) Laugh more – The only time I laugh anymore is while watching a sitcom on my laptop -_-
4.) Write more poetry and short stories – I can’t remember the last time I wrote a poem. I need to start soon. After all, it was poetry that ignited my love affair with words.
3.) TRAVEL – I was about to write Travel more and then it hit me – I don’t travel at all. This year, I hope to travel at least once – for pleasure and not for business!
2.) Blog more! – D&D will be undergoing some changes soon. I cannot wait to share the new layout with you guys. I will also be posting more on lifestyle including more restaurant reviews, books, films and music reviews as these are all things that I am very passionate about besides!
1.) Be more POSITIVE!!! – This is something that I need to work on. Somehow every thought in my life wanders a path of negativity in my mind. It’s time to venture out on the road less traveled by. After all, I hear it’s the better one? I also hear that it makes thing so much easier and oh, and it will also help with all the other resolutions on my list!
So! I hope you will accompany me on my journey through this space as I long to share it with all of you. Have a wonderful year ahead. You all will be writing a brand new chapter so make it good and make some awesome memories to carry on to 2015 and beyond!
What are your New Year Resolutions?
P.s I bet you too are thinking that I should have added “Get a decent handwriting” to my list! 😛
