My second visit to The White Room, Marina Plaza was a wonderful experience. I went in on a Saturday morning to get my eyebrows threaded (finally!), a mani/pedi, a hair treatment and *gulp* a hair cut!! I was so nervous about the latter the entire week before the actual day however the minute I entered the salon, all those worries escaped me..well, until the hairdresser brought out the scissors to start snipping away at my long locks.
The atmosphere at the salon is truly calming and the staff are always so helpful. I love how they serve hot beverages in adorable smiley mugs, like this one:
^^ So, yes! That’s the adorably uplifting mug and next to it is the color (Essie’s ‘Leading Lady‘) I chose for both my tips & toes. As I write this, I am reminded that I need to go back to the salon to purchase that color! (They have a selection of nailpolishes for retail as well. Hope this one is amongst the selection.) Here’s why:
^^ Just so pretty isn’t it? It:s a burgundy red with pink glitter! Anywho, after my mani/pedi it was time to undergo the salon’s hair spa treatment (30-40 minutes including scalp massage) which is meant to repair dry, weak and color-treated hair. The salon highly recommends this treatment and so do I. Although my hair still has a lot of broken strands, it feels much stronger after the treatment.
Alright – do you guys remember how long my hair was? Very! Seriously – I would always get charged AED 200+ at salons for a single blow dry because of my “very, very long hair” as their rate cards would normally state. Okay. Pause. Before I continue, I just have to say this…one of the reasons I love The White Room so much is because they charge AED 65 for blowdries regardless of your hair length or type and blowdry style! Not only is that affordable but the hair stylists do an excellent job! Do not go in expecting mediocre blowdry treatments for that price! Wonderful eh? So yes, where was I? Ahh yes, my long hair… I do miss it at times but my hair is so much more manageable now without the extra lengths and layers. My hair stylist used a pair of scissors instead of a blade that I am accustomed to, so it took about 30-35 minutes to perfect the cut and another 30 to blowdry. Here is the final look:
^^ What do you guys think?
If you are a blowout addict like me, you will really enjoy The White Room’s “The Look” membership. If you buy 4 blowouts for AED 260, you can get 1 free! You also get 10% off the Retail Product Line. That’s not all – unused blowouts rollover which means they never expire and the best part is – you can cancel your membership at any time for any reason! Isn’t that the most amazing and flexible offer you have ever come across? I can hardly believe it!!
If you are looking for a new look for the New Year, pop by The White Room. I hear they will also be running a January promo which entitles you to a perfectly polished manicure for free when you book any treatment from their facial menu! The offer is valid throughout January at all their branches.
